Callum Blackburn

Non - Executive Director

Callum’s expertise is in strategies for environmental sustainability. He has over 25 years experience working in this field with Zero Waste Scotland, various environmental consultancies, Falkirk Council, and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency. Best known for his work in promoting a circular economy, he was instrumental in developing Scotland’s first circular economy strategy “Making Things Last” in 2016 and now helps organisations reduce their resource use and manage waste.  
 
Callum is also a Non-Executive Director for the NHS Golden Jubilee University Hospital and is the Board’s Sustainability Champion, as well as being a Trustee of the Golden Jubilee Endowment Fund. Callum has degrees in economics and environmental studies and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Waste management (CWIM).  
 
He lives in Dunblane with his wife Hande and their dog & cat. In his free time Callum is a keen gardener and enjoys growing his own food - he and Hande have an allotment nearby. Favourite pastimes include playing racquet sports, long dog walks, and wildlife watching.
