Youth Counsellor

Join our Youth Counselling Team in East Dunbartonshire. 

Lifelink is a social enterprise with over 30 years of experience supporting adults and young people throughout Scotland with their mental health and wellbeing. Our vision is that people are healthier and happier, wherever they live, work or learn and this will be at the forefront of your counselling practice with us every day.

We have immediate availability for qualified and experienced Counsellors (contracted) and Associate Counsellors (self-employed on 12 month contract)

Counsellor Grade 4/5 (£24,750 - £29,500) pro rata

(salary placement dependant on qualifications, experience and accreditation status)

Role is offered at 28 hours per week.

Priority will be given to applicants who have experience and post qualifying training in working with young people and children – preferably in a primary or secondary school environment. Consideration will also be given to those with other youth experience.

We will be putting all Youth Counsellors through the SQA Professional Development Award in Counselling for Children and Young People SCQF Level 11

 

You must have:

  • A recognised Diploma in Counselling
  • A valid driving licence and access to own vehicle is essential
  • Excellent IT skills and be comfortable with use of mobile technology

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Experience of delivering time limited, solution focused approaches
  • Demonstrable experience of working with a range of client types and presenting issues
  • Experience of recording comprehensive client progress and improvement data
  • Experience of counselling young people in a school environment is highly advantageous
